Video: Disclosure – Latch
This song has been getting a lot of attention here in the U.S. lately! “Latch” by Disclosure was actually released as a single in the UK back in 2012, just recently has it been getting picked up by media channels here in the United States. This song was released as a single for the duo’s debut album, Settle .
The video was also uploaded back in 2012 and it depicts different couples embracing each other, which is perfectly fitting with the lyrics:
You lift my heart up when the rest of me is down (never)
You, you enchant me even when you’re not around (never)
If there are boundaries, I will try to knock them down (never)
I’m latching on, babe, now I know what I have found (never)
Now I got you in my space
I won’t let go of you (never)
Got you shackled in my embrace
I’m latching on to you (never)
In the video we see different couple catch each others’ eyes, kiss, and latch (like how I fit that in…) on to each others’ love. We see hints and evidence of GLBT and interracial relationships; reading the YouTube comments, this seems to be the norm and not a big deal in the UK, why don’t we see this in our media? Check out the video for yourself!
