Local Love: PC

This guy is definitely someone to keep an eye on! I’ve had the pleasure of working with PC and its been great seeing him grow.

PC, born in Aurora Colorado, has been crafting his skill since high school. Now a College student, he has been working closely with DJ KTone and other artists to put out a product like no other. After releasing the mixtape Unannounced, which features another artist J-Rich and hosted by KTone, fans have started to know what PC is about, and soon PC will drop a solo album. Not only is he a founding member of the rap group Round 3, but he has opened and worked on stage with artists such as; Paul Wall, Bobby Valentino, Bun B, and Slim Thug.

So, theres a little about PC, but for a more in-depth bio, check out his website.

Geller Center Music Festival

XaniScape*

A local connection to your timeless place

*Xanis: Mythical bringer of music

Are you searching for an opportunity to be enveloped by the power of diverse music? Are you yearning for the chance to unleash your creative side? Look no further. On Saturday, September 8, from 3-9PM, the Geller Center (CSU student organization generating social change for over 50 years), in collaboration with SpOkesBUZZ, will host XaniScape— a music festival that will feature local bands and musicians from many different genres, including classical, jazz, bluegrass, electronic, and rock. Throughout the festival, the Geller Center will sell beer from local breweries, and local vendors will be offering a unique array of food (including organic crepes, wild game bratwursts, Walrus ice cream, and Ethiopian cuisine). XaniScape will take place on the lawn of the Geller Center, which is located just north of the CSU Oval (629 South Howes St.). You can bring a blanket to lie in the grass, you can sway to the beat of the music, you can create a contemplative art piece, or you can walk the labyrinth in rhythmic motion—all will be invited at this celebration of creativity and spirit.

AKM – Up and Coming Artist

Andrew, also known as AKM has definitely came a long way! Me and him go back, like high school days back. We met when we both had no idea what this music thing was. I barely had a dozen records and two turntables and he had a drum machine and mixer/recorder. We’ve both come a long way, and I can say that I have enjoyed seeing him grow from where he started. He has definitely changed his style and now I can say that I see ‘Andrew’ through AKM’s music instead of just some other rapper. He’s definitely someone to keep an eye on and someone to follow. Check out his Facebook here. And his Reverb Nation page here.

Learn more from his bio below:

AKM (Born Andrew Kent Meyers on 9-16-1990) Is a musician from Colorado. He got into music spending hours making mix-tapes of his Dads classic rock records. He asked his parents for a drum set but they couldn’t afford it and didn’t want to put up with the noise. His sister had an electric keyboard so he learned that instead. He started making his beats but had no one to produce to start writing his own songs. In 2009 we was the drummer in Salt but quit to focus on his own career. AKM works with Sean Divine and makes his own beats using Native Instruments, Pro Tools and a midi controller. In 2012 he started his first Major project “Rock City” Including Live recordings by Ethan Roth on Guitar and himself on Drums. AKM Records at Denver’s premier studio, Side 3.
