Recap: MTV VMAs 2014
What an awesome time I had last night surrounded by friends! My girlfriend and I were invited to a very formal MTV VMAs 2014 Watching Party, and it was definitely done right! We got dressed up, and made sure we were there on time. We walk in and there’s signs and lighting all over the place, and a red carpet leading to the back where the big LED wall was projecting the VMA’s. Hors d’oeuvres were set out, bartender was mixing, and the socializing began!
After some time, the VMA’s started, and among some light conversation, many were glued to the screen, I know we were! The performances were awesome, and definitely creatively put together, especially the opening with Ariana Grande, Nicki, and Jessie J. – all who did their own song, but came together at the end for their song “Bang Bang“. They were all looking great, even with Nicki having to pull off a quick save to her wardrobe malfunction!
Beyonce, oh B. She definitely knows how to perform and show energy in what ever environment she’s in! Jay Z said she was the greatest entertainer, and if Jay said it, it has to be true, haha! Her performance included a montage of her tracks, and it was very well put together!
Iggy Azalea and Rita Ora performed their track, “Black Widow“, and it was very nice! The staging I felt was done right, performance was good, and of course wardrobe and makeup was on-point as well. The crowd was loving them too! They are definitely a crowd favorite.
There were other performances, including Taylor Swift, Maroon 5, and Sam Smith (my personal favorite). Among celebrities that were there to perform, there were many others there too, some hanging out, and others who introduced acts. Some of those include, Kim Kardashian, Jennifer Lopez, Katy Perry, Jim Carey, Jeff Daniels, Lorde, Snoop Dogg, Jimmy Fallon, and Jay Z.
Aside from seeing which celebrities would show up, we were interested in the awards, after all, it is the Video Music Awards right?! So here is a summary of who received which award.

I had a great time hanging out with people I care about and watching the VMAs. This was definitely one of my favorites. I was able to check out some of the celebrities, performers, and singers that I’m a fan of, and cheer some of them on as they get awarded for what they do. I’m already looking forward to next year!
How did you spend your time watching the VMAs? What did you think of the awards?
